About Our Garden

Our community garden brings people together through shared purpose — growing food, caring for nature, and building community.

We have vegetable beds, flowers, trees, and even some unexpected residents — chickens, bees, goats, and emus!

We’re expanding and welcome anyone who wants to get their hands in the soil. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or total beginner, there’s a place for you here.

Our Story

The Barnton Bunker Community Garden was established in mid-2025, thanks to a grant from Edinburgh Council’s Grow Your Own Fund.

It was created as a shared space between residential volunteers and local residents — a place to socialise, eat together, and grow together.

The Barnton Bunker is a registered charity. Learn more about our work here.
